Long Lake Outdoor Center (LLOC) – Camp Rules, Policies and Guidelines
Welcome to Long Lake Outdoor Center. As the new concessionaire, we have adopted many of the rules
established by the previous management, in alignment with State of Michigan regulations and our lease
agreement. Please understand that many of these rules are mandated by the State and must be strictly
followed to ensure continued operation. Your cooperation is appreciated.
State-Mandated Rules (Non-Negotiable)
1. All guests must comply with the laws of the State of Michigan.
2. Smoking and/or vaping is strictly prohibited inside any building. (Per Michigan law, smoking is not
allowed on State property, which includes the Outdoor Center.)
3. Pets are permitted when booking entire outdoor center – exclusive use, however, pets are NOT
permitted in any building (porches included)
Exceptions to Rule 3: Service animals (e.g., guide dogs) and animals used in official educational
presentations. Emotional support or “comfort” animals are not included in this exception.
4. Tent and RV camping are not permitted on the premises.
5. Motorized vehicles must remain in designated parking areas; they are not allowed beyond the parking
lot.
6. The camp's maximum occupancy is 120 people and must not be exceeded at any time.
7. Cabin electrical systems are limited to 10-amp circuits (1200 watts). High-power appliances such as
hot plates, microwaves, space heaters, air conditioners, or refrigerators are not allowed. Overloading
circuits will result in blown fuses and you will be charged for repair.
8. Cooking is not permitted inside cabins, no exception.
9. Open flames (candles, oil lamps, etc.) or any other heat-producing devices are prohibited in the
cabins.
10. Display or sale of any materials or goods (other than approved vendors) is not permitted.
11. Fireworks, firearms, air guns, slingshots, and bows/arrows are not allowed unless part of an organized
and approved program. Exception: During hunting season (September 15 – March 31), individuals with
valid hunting licenses may possess firearms on site, though hunting is not permitted within camp
boundaries.
12. Mechanical rides, coin-operated machines, and other commercial amusement devices are not
allowed on the premises.
Outdoor Center Rules
1. Be Respectful – Please be courteous to fellow campers. Everyone is here to relax and enjoy.
2. Do Not Remove Anything – Do not remove any tables or benches from the Lodge, they are historic and
fragile. Do not take cookware, tableware, or any dishes outside of Kitchen/Dining Hall. Please do not
move the beds or tables within the cabins.
3. Care for the Property – Leave the camp facilities as you found them. Clean your cabin before
departure. If you use the lodge, kitchen, or bathhouse, ensure all spaces are left clean and ready for the
next group. If something is damaged, please notify management promptly so we can make the necessary
repairs.
4. Use Common Sense – If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. When in doubt, ask.
5. Enjoy Your Stay – You’re here to have a great time. Make the most of it! Thank you for being here!
Alcohol Policy:
• Alcohol may be brought for personal, moderate consumption only.
• NO Glass Bottles
• Alcohol may not be served or sold without appropriate licenses and insurance, in accordance with
Michigan Liquor Control Commission regulations.
• Cash bars, alcohol service to minors, or charging admission to alcohol-related events are strictly
prohibited.
• Disorderly or intoxicated individuals will be required to leave the premises.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
• We require a 25% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit when booking, with the remaining balance due at least 14
days prior to reservation date.
Cleaning Policy:
• There will be a cleaning fee attached to each reservation, outside of wedding packages. This fee will vary
based on the type and number of buildings reserved. This fee will range from $10 - $600.
• Guests are still responsible for departure responsibilities.
Golf Cart Accommodation Policy:
• Per Michigan State Law, no motorized vehicles are permitted beyond designated parking areas.
• The one exception to this is to accommodate disabled and mobility impaired guests (not for transport of
luggage, supplies, beer, etc.)
• If you wish to have a golf cart present, please reach out further as you are required to submit a permit
application for one driver and a list of people needing assistance, and you are required to purchase liability
insurance.
Guest Departure Responsibilities: CHECK OUT: 11:00 AM
To ensure a smooth transition and avoid additional charges, we ask that you and your guests complete
the following tasks before departure:
• Empty all Buildings:
o All Personal Belongings (including clothing, decorations, food, cookware, electronics, etc.)
must be removed from all buildings by 11:00 AM on your departure day.
• Clean and Store Dishes
o Any dishes belonging to the facility that were used during your stay must be washed, dried,
and returned to their proper place. All buildings, including the Lodge, must be vacated by
11:00 AM.
• Leave Spaces in Good Condition
o Buildings should be left in a reasonable state—free of stuck-on food, spills, or excessive
mess.
o Please refrain from pranks or other activities that could create additional work for our
cleaning staff, as this may result in extra charges.
• Clean Outdoor Areas by 11:00 AM
o Before your check-out time at 1:00 PM, please tidy the outdoor grounds. Common tasks
include:
▪ Removing all decorations, tents, and pop-up shelters.
▪ Taking down or properly storing any rental equipment (e.g., tables, chairs, pavilion-
style tents).
▪ Picking up all litter, including beverage containers, wrappers, and cigarette butts.
▪ Guests are welcome to enjoy the outdoor facilities until 1:00 PM. The bathhouse will
also remain open until that time.
Thank you for your attention and your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Nathan Nugent
